Are you a business or organization looking to improve the accessibility of your facilities? We can help.
The Council for Persons with Disabilities is pleased to offer its Community Accessibility Evaluation Program to local businesses and organizations wishing to enhance accessibility at their location.
Using an experiential approach, the program is intended to enable a better understanding of challenges associated with accessibility in the built environment, and to identify and recommend simple, practical and cost-effective solutions.
The Community Accessibility Evaluation will provide a comprehensive perspective on how to make your building as accessible as possible, for as many people as possible.
What We Do
A two-person team of lived experience experts will visit your workplace and perform a comprehensive walk-through to evaluate its current accessibility including entrances, stairways, elevators, ramps, washrooms, lighting, transit, and signs.
You will receive a full report that will identify simple, practical, cost-effective and easy-to-implement solutions to accessibility challenges in your workplace.

Testimonials
“The Council for Persons with Disabilities conducted a Community Accessibility Evaluation for us at the United Way Peterborough. Jason and Leslie were very thorough and knowledgeable both during the evaluation and within the report provided. I look forward to working with them again in the future.”
Rhonda Gilchrist, United Way Peterborough
Our Agency, Canopy Support Services, contracted the Council of Persons with Disabilities to complete an accessibility review of our new head office. As we were under renovations, we wanted to ensure our new space provided equal access and opportunity for all community members. I would highly recommend this service for all agencies and businesses.”
