Community Accessibility Evaluation Program (CAEP)

CAEP

Looking to make your business or organization more accessible? We can guide you through the process.

The Council for Persons with Disabilities offers the Community Accessibility Evaluation Program to help businesses and organizations identify barriers and improve accessibility. Our hands-on approach provides a deeper understanding of accessibility challenges and practical, cost-effective solutions.

What to expect

A two-person team with lived experience will visit your location and conduct a full walk-through, evaluating accessibility in key areas, including:

  • Entrances
  • Stairways and elevators
  • Ramps and washrooms
  • Lighting and signage
  • Transit access

After the evaluation, you’ll receive a detailed report outlining simple, practical improvements that can enhance accessibility for staff, customers, and visitors.

Program costs

$350 for a five-hour assessment and written report ($40 per additional hour)
