The Council for Persons with Disabilities (CPD) was established in 1989, when a need was identified in Peterborough for an official platform to advocate for the rights of disabled people. An incorporated business and registered charity since 2000, CPD is now recognized by the City of Peterborough as a leading advisor on accessibility issues. An advocacy and educational organization since its founding, CPD continues to provide advice and information on disability, accessibility and inclusion to the private and public sector.
