CPD’s Jason King reflects on accessibility and Disability Pride Month on CBC’s Ontario Morning

July marks Disability Pride Month in Ontario. It is a time to recognize the strength, leadership and contributions of people with disabilities, and to reflect on the work still needed to create a more accessible province for all.

To help mark the occasion, Ontario Morning spoke with Jason King, Marketing & Programming Coordinator from the Council for Persons with Disabilities (CPD). Jason has been a strong advocate and community leader in Peterborough’s accessibility movement for decades.

In the interview, he shares what Disability Pride Month means to him, the progress he has seen in the city and why accessibility benefits everyone. He also talks about the importance of listening to lived experience when making decisions about inclusion.

You can listen to the 10-minute episode here.

Thanks, Jason, for sharing your insight and for your ongoing work to build a more accessible and welcoming community.
