We’re here to break barriers and open doors
The Council for Persons with Disabilities (CPD) advocates for equal rights and inclusion for people with disabilities in Peterborough/Nogojiwanong. We work to raise awareness, improve services and create opportunities that help individuals live full, independent lives. By collaborating with the city, schools and businesses, we push for accessible services and policies that make a real difference in people's everyday experiences.

Active Together
A welcoming space where people with disabilities can try new hobbies, join fun activities, and connect with others. It’s all about making friends, learning something new and enjoying time together in a friendly, relaxed environment.

Time in My Shoes
This hands-on experience lets participants see the world through a disability lens. It’s a thoughtful way to build empathy, spark conversations and give people a better understanding of accessibility and inclusion in everyday life.

Community Accessibility Evaluation
We assess your space to find barriers and suggest ways to improve access. You’ll get tips to help make your space more welcoming for people with different mobility needs.

We review your website and documents to check how user-friendly they are for everyone. From digital to print, we offer clear advice to help you communicate more inclusively.

Card & Equipment Labelling
We add braille or large print to cards and equipment so key details are easier to read and understand. It’s a simple step that makes important information more accessible to more people.

When you play at Delta Bingo & Gaming, you're helping support the Council for Persons with Disabilities. Funds that are raised allow us to provide meaningful activities and programs to those with and without disabilities throughout our community.
