National Access Week

National Access Week (NAW) is an opportunity to bring together, in a spirit of partnership, organizations related to persons with disabilities, businesses and government to affect meaningful changes in the daily lives of persons with disabilities. NAW was initially conceived by Rick Hansen, following his Man in Motion world tour.

The Council for Persons with Disabilities (CPD) celebrates National Access Week (NAW) each year during the last week in May. CPD’s Access Awareness and Education Committee (AAEC) organizes celebrations and involves a wide range of community partners to spread the word on creating accessible, inclusive communities.
