National Access Awareness Week! May 24-30, 2015

National Access Awareness Week (NAAW) falls this year between May 24 – 30, 2015 and is an opportunity to bring together, in a spirit of partnership, organizations related to persons with disabilities, businesses and governments to affect meaningful changes in the daily lives of persons with disabilities. NAAW was initially conceived by Rick Hansen, following his Man in Motion world tour.

The Council for Persons with Disabilities (CPD) exists to improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities by promoting equality, opportunity and inclusion in the Peterborough region so that everyone can thrive and celebrates National Access Awareness Week (NAAW) each year during

the last week in May. CPD has organized a number of events to celebrate National Access Awareness Week with the help from numerous community partners to spread the word on creating accessible, inclusive communities.
