4:00PM to 4:45PM Wii—Active Gaming—Amy Cotter
A hands-on presentation to learn more about how to use the Wii gaming system to be active, increase fitness and have fun! Try your hand at bowling, tennis, golf etc.
6:00PM to 6:45PM Tai Chi—George Kerr
A gentle yet very effective exercise done in the form of a moving meditation designed to work all the systems of the body, increasing heart & lung function strengthening bones, great for sore back & stiff joints. Moving meditation is great for relaxation, reducing stress & mental acuity
4:00PM to 5:30PM SCI Action Canada - Physical Activity for Adults with Physical Disabilities—Krystn Orr
SCI Action Canada provides evidence-based resources and strategies to help individuals with physical disabilities be-come more active. This interactive workshop will provide an overview of some of these resources along with demonstrations of seated physical activities.
5:00PM to 5:45PM All work and no play… Wait a minute! Time to recreate—Lisa Hughes
Devoting some time for recreation helps in staying healthy; achieving a peace of mind and improves mental and physical health, resulting in improved quality of life.
This brief talk will discuss the importance of recreation, explore your personal recreation interests and match those with local recreation opportunities.
6:00PM to 7:00PM Accessible Travel—Cory Lee
This presentation will explore accessible modes of transportation (flying, cruising, train travel), wild travel experiences, and other tips to help people plan their accessible trips.
